me.l.t. Monday- Chilling Advice from a WWII Vet

I dedicate time early every Monday to write about mindset because just like YOU, mondays can be tough and I want YOU to not only get after it on Mondays but set the tempo for the rest of the week.
 
Its common to feel tired, anxious, overwhelmed, sad and other negative emotions Monday morning but if we don’t convert these negative emotions into some form of useful action, we’ll wind up feeling sorry for ourselves all day and get nothing done.
 
I know for me, realizing emotions and putting them into perspective helps get my mind right.
 
I’m reminded of Beethoven’s deafness…
 
Roosevelt’s polio…
 
Milton’s Blindness…
 
Helen Keller’s lack of hearing and sight…
 
Benjamin Franklin dropping out of school when he was only ten…
 
Ulysses S Grant fighting alcoholism…
 
Eddie Richenbacker, who was asked, after he was rescued, what the biggest lesson he learned while drifting with his buddies in life rafts for twenty one days when lost in the Pacific during WWII:
 
“The biggest lesson I learned was that if you have all the fresh water you want to drink and all the food you want to eat, you ought never to complain about anything.”
 
When you put it in perspective, you will realize that 99% of problems are NOTHING.
 
When you feel negative emotions come about, realize them and know things could be a lot worse. You (WE) have it great.
