Should You Workout When Sick? Advice from South Windsor & Glastonbury Personal Trainer

My rule of thumb is that YES you MOVE when sick unless you are suffering from food poisoning (that could get ugly), bronchitis, a fever or a sinus infection.
Those things take a lot out of your body and exercises could actually be detrimental. Other than that, get it in baby!

When you start moving and sweating, you:
- Flush out toxins
-Get your body metabolizing, digesting and eliminating
-Boost your positive hormonal flow
All things that WILL make you feel better.

What do when:
a. Sick from food poisoning (that could get ugly), bronchitis, a fever or a sinus infection:
-Rest your body
-Take in LOADS (massive loads, yup just got British on ya) of fluids i.e. WATER
-Drink white or green tea (white has higher antioxidants)
-Eat spicy food; hot peppers and pepper seeds
-Eat mostly  greens & fruits: When you are sick, typically you don't have the stomach to eat normally. In this case, blend together greens, fruits with a few shots of protein.

b. Sick from anything else: G.O.Y.A - get off yo ass!

Sometimes good is just good enough
